Summit VetPharm Launches Nationwide Program
January 15, 2010
RUTHERFORD, NJ – January 15 , 2010 – Furthering support of the good work of the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF), Summit VetPharm announced the launch of an exciting donation program with the nation’s largest marketers of automotive replacement tires, TBC Corporation. The program, “Tires for Tails™” brought to you by Vectra® , not only helps support the work of the AVMF through financial contributions, but it also extends significant discounts to the veterinarian community for automobile tire purchases and services.
In addition to a generous initial donation to the AVMF by Summit VetPharm, $1 will be donated for every tire purchased through the program by veterinarians, their family and staff at any participating TBC retail outlet, including NTB®, Tire Kingdom® and Merchant's Tire®.
“We are very proud to have TBC Corporation as our partner. TBC is also a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, our parent company”, stated Julia Stephanus, President and CEO of Summit VetPharm. “This is a great example of how the diversity of Sumitomo’s businesses creates synergies that make it possible to bring together two very different industries for a good cause. Both Summit VetPharm and TBC are excited to be able to join forces to support the American Veterinary Medical Foundation and their important work in the animal healthcare field.“
The program’s mission is to support the American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s many efforts on behalf of animals. The AVMF is the charitable arm of the AVMA that funds disaster response and emergency preparedness training and accepts charitable contributions on behalf of these efforts.
“We are very appreciative of Summit VetPharm’s continued commitment to the veterinary profession and animals in need,” commented Michael W. Cathey, AVMF Executive Director. “We were particularly impressed that Summit VetPharm has engaged a company outside of the animal healthcare industry, TBC, to collaborate in a donation program that will benefit veterinarians and animal care and will ultimately give our important mission much more exposure.”
Participating TBC retailers will provide special discounts including 10% off select tires, service and wheels, $7 off oil changes, free flat tire repair and/or free tire rotation. In order to participate in this special discount program, veterinarians and their family and staff should go to http://deals.tbccentral.com/tiresfortails/ to register and obtain a discount card.
