Summit Vetpharm Enters Agreement With Newly Formed Butler Schein Animal Health To Distribute Vectra® Products

RUTHERFORD, NJ – January 12, 2010 - Summit VetPharm has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Butler Schein Animal Health, a new company that combines Butler Animal Health Supply and Henry Schein’s U.S. animal health businesses, to distribute Vectra® products in all 50 states.
“We are very happy that we will be working with the largest veterinary distributor in the U.S. companion animal market,” commented Rich Shavelson, Director of Sales for Summit VetPharm. “Working with the new Butler Schein Animal Health organization will allow us to meet the increasing demand by veterinarians for Vectra products.” Summit VetPharm previously had enjoyed a distribution relationship with Henry Schein and NLS Animal Health.

Butler Schein Animal Health will be joining DVM Resources, Merritt Veterinary Supplies, Inc., Midwest Veterinary Supply, Inc., MWI Veterinary Supply, PCI Animal Health, Sanum Puerto Rico, Victor Medical Company and Webster Veterinary as an authorized veterinary distributor for Summit VetPharm’s products. In addition to a powerful distribution network, Summit VetPharm is continuing to work with its co-promotion partner, Abbott Animal Health, to represent the Vectra portfolio of products.
Summit VetPharm offers some of the newest veterinarian-dispensed ectoparasiticidal topicals for companion animals. Vectra 3D®, a broad-spectrum topical with dinotefuran, a third-generation neonicotinoid, effectively protects dogs against six vectors – fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sand flies, lice (biting and sucking) and mites. Vectra for Dogs & Puppies™, Vectra for Cats & Kittens™ and Vectra for Cats® feature a combination of dinotefuran and pyriproxyfen that delivers rapid, effective and complete flea control for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
Summit VetPharm continues their commitment to Bloodhound® Technology – an innovative, proprietary track-and-trace system that ensures veterinary exclusivity of the Vectra® products and guards against counterfeiting.
