Reduce the risk of vector-borne disease
Monthly application of Vectra® can help protect your pets from hungry parasites. To keep your pet comfortable and reduce the risk of disease transmission, it’s important to understand how and where parasites live and breed.

Fleas multiply wherever your dog goes: pillows, bedding, floors, furniture and carpets.

Avoid tick-infested areas, especially wooded areas with heavy brush, shrubs, and grass.

Any container that can hold water can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes around your home.

Sand flies love clogged gutters, mulch, yard clippings, sewer drains, ditches and planters.

Lice may be spread from dog-to-dog contact and shared items.

Mites are highly contagious and may infest any area in the house.
Treating an infestation:
Adult fleas are only 5% of a flea population. If you already have an infestation in your home, Vectra® alone won’t take care of the problem. You need to take steps to clean the pet’s environment as well, including:
- Treat all pets in your household with a parasiticide your veterinarian recommends.
- Vacuum places your dog tends to reside.
- Clean and treat furniture, bedding, cars and pet carriers.
To keep populations of fleas, ticks mosquitoes, lice, mites and sand flies in check, make sure to clean areas where they are known to live and breed.
